April 2, 2020
Dear St. Christopher Parish Family,
We hope that these days of prayer and penance have brought forth unexpected blessings and graces from the Lord. If we can see how the Lord is loving us during these times, we can discover a joy and peace that is not disturbed by whatever news surrounds us.
We would like to share with you schedules for St. Christopher's Parish for the days ahead including Holy Week and Easter. The continued suspension of public Masses means that we will have to celebrate the Holy Week liturgies remotely as we have done over these last couple of weeks. The inability to celebrate the Solemnity of Easter as one community around the Eucharistic altar brings sorrow and grief. We all truly hoped that the quarantine procedures would be finished by Easter, but our Lord is inviting us to walk with Him through His Passion towards His glorious Resurrection in a new way this year. As challenging as it is, this year let us focus with greater hope and deeper trust in the central mystery of our faith - Jesus Christ has conquered death and has opened up the gates of eternal life for us. What an important time to rejoice in that liberating truth!
We also have many opportunities for Confession next week - please take advantage of this healing and strengthening sacrament in the days ahead.

Thank you for Supporting the Parish
It has been very edifying to receive ongoing offertory support and several significant donations during the suspension of public Masses. This support is vital and we thank you for generously caring for the parish! It is a witness of your love for God and your willingness to offer your treasure for the building of the Kingdom. Our weekly offertory total has decreased from budgeted levels but we hope to balance it out by encouraging online giving and increased giving from those who are able. If you typically support the parish with cash in the offertory collection, we kindly ask you to consider enrolling in online giving so we can keep our faith community financially healthy in the weeks ahead. Thank you!
St. Vincent de Paul Easter Baskets
It is a wonderful parish tradition that each Lent we invite parish families to purchase grocery items to provide Easter dinner baskets for those in need. Given the current circumstances, this year we determined it would be too challenging to coordinate donor families and safely distribute the baskets. However, we are pleased to share that all of our designated Easter Basket recipients will be receiving a Market Basket gift card via postal mail. These gift cards were purchased with funds donated to St. Vincent de Paul, especially through money put into our church kiosks. Thank you to our dedicated St. Vincent de Paul Ministry volunteers and to our many parishioners who are always so generous with this ministry!
