Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

"When we receive Holy Communion, we experience something extraordinary - a joy, a fragrance, a well-being that thrills the whole body and causes it to exalt."

Saint John Vianney

The extraordinary minister’s function is to distribute Holy Communion, either within Mass or by taking it to a sick person, when an ordained minister (bishop, priest or deacon) is absent or impeded.

All ministers of Holy Communion should show the greatest reverence for the Most Holy Eucharist by their demeanor, their attire, and the manner in which they handle the consecrated bread or wine.

They are appointed by the bishop upon recommendation of the pastor. If you are interested in becoming an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, please contact Fr. David.
