The Seven Sacraments of the Church
Christ instituted the sacraments of the new law. There are seven: Baptism, Confirmation, the Eucharist, Penance, the Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders and Matrimony. The seven sacraments touch all the stages and all the important moments of Christian life: they give birth and increase, healing and mission to the Christian’s life of faith. There is thus a certain resemblance between the stages of natural life and the stages of the spiritual life.

Sacraments of Initiation

Baptism
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19

Confirmation
While Baptism is the gateway to all the other Sacraments, the Sacrament of Confirmation deepens our baptismal life with the strength of the Holy Spirit.

Eucharist
While they were eating, Jesus took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and giving it to his disciples said, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
Sacraments of Healing

Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Penance is God’s gift to us so any sin committed after Baptism is forgiven. It gives us the opportunity to repent and return to good graces and friendship with God and the Church.
